North Hills Collective strives to care for the North Hills community by providing essential and reliable support services as well as safe, consistent and fun recreational activities. At any given time – assisted by our broad partnership network that provides strategic, financial and volunteer support – we intend to provide any or all of the below services to the community.
Homework Assistance, Tutoring & Academic Support: Providing students support in understanding and completing homework assignments, and using information from students’ school teachers, establishing enrichment programming. Advocating for students at the school level, making suggestions for homework extensions and other academic supports.
Mentoring: Providing students support with goal-setting and character development; as well as providing opportunities for culturally relevant enrichment activities focused on supporting the positive exploration of their identity and cultural background.
Supplemental Education Programming: Reading enrichment, college and career exploration for teens, and collaboration with students to identify additional supplements as needed.
Annual Summer Camp: Providing daily programming for youth, as an alternative to idleness during the summer when school is not in session.
Movie Nights: Fun, informal activity for families. Get out, socialize with friends and neighbors, indulge in delicious snacks and watch a family-friendly movie together.
Sports Camps: Offering supplemental skills camps to athletically inclined youth, in a variety of sports including basketball and soccer.
Job & Career Guidance and Soft-skills Training: Equipping working age community members with advice, training and skills that can help them obtain and maintain fulfilling occupations.
Food Security Assistance: Offering supplemental nutritional needs to families in need.
Self-Care Provisions: Providing self-care and hygiene tools to community members in need.
Family Photo Shoots: Opportunities for families to capture their families in a moment in time, a luxury that can often be a challenge.
Annual Backpack Drive: Helping families and students prepare for school every fall.
